Dear Friends and Colleagues,

With only one day of summmer left, I am genuinely shocked at how quickly 2023 is flying by.  What a unique time we are in; most people I have spoken with have noted that their businesses have had a quiet start to the year and yet time seems to be sped up – many of us are busy, but financially not where we would like to be.

In an effort to ‘take-stock’ and reframe my view, I asked the team to look back on the past 12 months and note how we have spent our time:

  • As borders opened during 2022, we got busy visiting our clients, face to face – this was crucial to deepening our connection with them.
  • We spent a lot of time in Tasmania with fantastic organisations like the Baker Group (civil & construction services), Forico (Tasmania’s largest private forest manager), Scotch Oakburn College and TasRail.
  • We continued our important and long-standing relationship with Flavour Creations (medical / nutrition food manufacturer) and spent valuable and fun days in Brisbane with their wonderful leadership team.
  • We continued to provide world-class customer experience and employee engagement reporting to our clients.
  • We extended our executive coaching services with organisations like Royal Sydney Golf Club, CBHS Health Insurance and Nexia (professional services firm) and delighted in witnessing the growth and development of many great leaders.
  • We delivered many executive and emerging leadership development programs to build capability and capacity for our clients and continued to facilitate strategic planning workshops that help our clients stretch and imagine what they could be.
  • We have also been lucky enough to be invited to participate in speaking engagements; one of note was for the Tasmanian Forestry Sector, looking at how to attract and retain talent and another for Steiner Education Australia, exploring ethics, decision making and psychological safety.
  • In 2022, People At Their Best also published many thought leadership pieces, the most recent ones are linked here:

Attract and retain the right workforce

Power of Purpose or a race to the bottom

PERM Plus – 5 Building- blocks that enable us to flourish

Ethical decision making in an unscrupulous world – How leaders can still make principled decisions

‘Mattering’ is the top leadership skill for retaining employees, according to research

So, with hopes for a more connected 2023, we look forward to working with you all as we continue in our mission to help build Purpose driven organisations
Dom & the team
