Hi PATB team, I must say that I did NOT do what you suggested in your summer newsletter, but I now wish that I had! I could have used the following at New Years drinks!
But I do hope to make amends in January and stop more;
“Over this holiday season remember to S.T.O.P. –
Slow down your breathing and take a moment away from your work;
Take note of what you are thinking and what you are feeling;
Open up and be honest with yourself about how you have been behaving and acting;
Pursue values and ensure what you do next is aligned with those values.”
STOPing each day is about the best way to build resilience and prevent us being hijacked by our emotions. Nearly everything we do each day is simply a reflex – a reaction to a stimulus with very little conscious thought. The year is flying by Mark and I can’t even remember New Years’ drinks now.
